Above the Bridge by Deborah Garner is a typical cowboy story with a hidden treasure and mystery around it. As such, it is not bad reading, but not exactly sophisticated material either. It takes place in the beautiful mountainous town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and I was captured by the author’s exquisitely detailed descriptions of the land! They are awesome! I am also interested in journalism, and the story is interesting from a journalist’s point of view. I wouldn’t recommend it for adults, but I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading the book either.

Also, I read from a kindle–it’s easier to hold onto and I don’t have to turn pages–and it is obvious that illustrations, surely provided in book form, add much to the movement through the plot and suspense and all that good stuff.  I was deprived when I read the book.
