My first experience with color as it impacts learning was noticed 30 years ago when I tutored a learning disabled student who used colored transparencies to decrease the glare and contrast of black and white when he read.  And I now see the relevance of the simple modification to me and my understanding. I have a brain injury and no diagnosed Learning Disability, but I need plenty of specifics for comprehension; and a black and white movie, TV show, or even  picture  is much harder for me to understand than one in color. My theory is that color grabs my attention and lessons the work my damaged brain has to do. But really, this aid to understanding may even help YOU, brain injury, learning disability, or not!
