I took an online survey sent by an organization BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS NOW, which has arisen mightily among all of the public place shootings in recent times. And I found myself suggesting something worth mentioning here. Months ago, I had suggested to my therapist that he might set a precedent of making house calls for people like me, elderly folks, and people with disabilities who, it’s probably safe to assume, have some kind of complication involved in transportation to a therapist’s office. But the therapist coming to the patient serves another purpose too, I realized that day–it makes mental health care easier to obtain. It’s possible that the shooters may not have collapsed into their tragic sprees–and scores of lives could have been saved–if logistics hadn’t impeded their chances of getting the help they needed.

I know, I know, I can practically hear the echo of my readers’ doubt. It is indeed very hard to see the psychos as once human and at all likely that they knew they needed help before their downward spiral into whatever sick obsession ended up taking over. And I don’t care about them–they can rot in hell. My mission is saving all of the innocent lives that could be lost if we don’t grasp at straws and do everything we can that might help.
