A difference exists between motorized wheelchairs and cars–or wheelchairs and anything, really–they’re unique–and it needs to be known by medical people, and that they should leave the driving to the wheelchair user. Even if it wasn’t disrespectful to grab someone’s controls without permission, it may have very costly consequences.

Although I refer to one case in about a billion respectful encounters I’ve had with medical people, it just takes one instance and one clueless person to crash my chair into a mammogram machine, for example, and cost the hospital millions of dollars.
